Drive across desert landscapes to Jaisalmer (approx. 5–6 hrs). On arrival, check in at a boutique heritage hotel or desert-inspired haveli. Evening walk around Gadisar Lake, a scenic reservoir surrounded by temples and shrines, where migratory birds can often be seen. Spend the morning exploring Jaisalmer’s living Golden Fort, with Jain temples, the Maharaja’s Palace, and narrow streets filled with shops. Later, visit Patwon ki Haveli and Nathmal ki Haveli, famous for intricate sandstone carvings. In the afternoon, drive to the Sam Sand Dunes for a desert safari. Ride camels through the dunes as the sun sets, then enjoy an evening cultural performance with folk music and dance, followed by dinner under the stars.
