On arrival at Delhi International Airport, you will be greeted by your chauffeur and transferred to a luxury hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax after your flight. If time permits, take a short evening drive through the avenues of New Delhi, passing India Gate and the President’s House. Dinner at the hotel. Overnight stay in Delhi.
After breakfast, begin a full-day tour of Delhi. Visit Qutub Minar, a 12th-century victory tower, and Humayun’s Tomb, a beautiful Mughal mausoleum surrounded by gardens. Drive through the grand colonial streets of New Delhi to see India Gate and Rashtrapati Bhavan. In the afternoon, explore Old Delhi with a cycle rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk, visiting spice markets, silver shops, and the grand Jama Masjid mosque. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Drive to Agra (approx. 4 hrs). On arrival, check in at a luxury hotel. In the afternoon, explore Agra Fort, an enormous Mughal stronghold filled with palaces and gardens. Wake up early for a sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal, a magical time when the monument is quiet and peaceful. After breakfast, begin the drive towards Ranthambore (approx. 6 hrs). Stop en route at Fatehpur Sikri, the former capital of Emperor Akbar, with red sandstone palaces and a grand mosque. Continue to Ranthambore and check into a luxury jungle lodge. Spend the evening by the bonfire as naturalists share stories of the park’s tigers. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Your first safari day begins early. Board an open jeep with an expert naturalist and head deep into Ranthambore National Park, one of the best places in India to see wild tigers. Apart from tigers, watch for leopards, striped hyenas, marsh crocodiles, and a variety of deer. Return to the lodge for breakfast and some rest. Spend another full day at Ranthambore. Morning safari takes you past lakes and ancient banyan trees where sambars and langurs gather.
